LEHMAN PARK

Public BBQ

This tranquil bayside retreat offers visitors one of Brisbane's quieter coastal experiences. The park features covered picnic tables with barbecue facilities overlooking a tidal beach that transforms dramatically with the lunar cycle. At low tide, vast sandbanks stretch for kilometres, revealing fascinating marine life including colonies of soldier crabs that delight young explorers. The shallow waters and fine sand create ideal conditions for families with small children, while dog-friendly zones accommodate four-legged companions. Sunrise enthusiasts find the eastern exposure particularly rewarding, though timing visits with the tide proves crucial - high tide reduces beach access considerably. The adjacent playground and public toilets add practical convenience, while nearby shops provide additional amenities. Parking becomes competitive during peak periods, but the payoff is access to what locals describe as Brisbane's "best kept secret" - a genuinely peaceful coastal spot where encounters with more than five other visitors remain uncommon.
